Celebrating Our Friend shorty!

The man…The Myth…The Legend…

If you have ridden the Pedaler’s Jamboree before than chances are you have come across David Lindstrom “Shorty”. This smiling giant has given a thousand hugs and a million smiles over his lifetime of adventures. This year (2023) we are toasting Shorty’s retirement from the 9-5 lifestyle and sending him off into the sunset of new endless freedom and good times!

When you see Shorty on the ride this year be sure to give him a smile, hello, toast of the moment or better yet a big old hug! Shorty, we love you buddy! We are so glad to be sharing trailside adventures with you!

Below are photos and some random thoughts from the legend himself…

Random Shorty Thoughts:

I have an album of 76 and the articles I wrote for the home town news paper where my parents worked together.. Dude I could write a book on how I made it to the Jamboree! Holy Shit a rode across 76  with a dude from Iowa a student and associate with the event organizer’s dad. Yeah I was aware of Ped Jam since I moved to Mo in 2006 to GM. My first Ped Jam I was supposed to meet up with a friend from St Louis who eventually passed from ALS. Waiting for him I saw a drum set on a bike so I asked what s up? I pulled out my harmonica and Mo Hunter aka Mayo tossed me a t shirt and I joined the Saucsascious Sounds as Relish. Rachel aka Mustard welcomed me with open arms. There might be a reunion this year

What lies ahead:

I'm already signed up for GOBA and BAM Minnesota. My biggest goal is to pedal for a healed knee cap. Also make new biker friends. We're like magnets ain't we?

I have passed passion for biking to my nieces and nephews. My biggest goal this year is the St Paul Clasic our last ride together the day before

I broke my knee. Anyhoo you can dump my Ashes at MP 184, Mustard knows.

A special message from Brett - AKA - Sag Wagon Hero:

Where would one even begin to describe their time with our friend Shorty? Well, my attempt at the start of a beautiful friendship with someone who would bring much joy, happiness, and just overall fun will be subpar to the actual experience of what I can say about the iconic Shorty. Hello all, I'm Brett. I am the one behind the scenes who may give you a ride if you are feeling a little famished on the trail. Had a drink to many? Well, I was there to pick you up! That's right folks, I'm the leader of the SAG Wagon. My first time seeing Shorty was actually not Ped Jam, it was the inaugural Big BAM. I was curious of this creature peddling down a highway just outside of Kansas City, Missouri. I could see a majestic white beard split in half flowing in the wind with a tie dye shirt on as I drove past I thought to myself: "huh, right on." If you know me, that was and is my upmost respect in a form of simplicity. I finally got to talk to Shorty, conversation was short, but I knew that this was a person I would have around me for a long period of time. As time went on, I could tell Shorty's presences was not just felt by me, but the masses. His energy, overall kindness, and just smile is and always will be infectious. He sneaks in some amazing harmonica skills to make it known he is such a cool kick ass dude. Over the years, Shorty and I have just become friends that love to chat and have a lot of fun at the expense of our fearless leader Mikey D. Shorty, if you are reading this, please know you have done more for me than you can ever know and I will always value of friendship. From Ped Jam, to Big BAM, to camping out at Barry's and spending a night at a festival. You are one of a kind, and the world is lucky to have you. Congratulations my friend. I wish you nothing but the best and happiness. PS. I may have to get a Off Track tattoo to match! Let's ride!
